Note: Maj. Crockett was a former Tuskegee Airman in World War II. He was well-liked by all the pilots of the 8th FBG. He served as Flying Safety Officer until May 1953. One day when an F-86 pilot crashed on approach to K-13, Crockett pulled him from his burning aircraft and was later awarded the Soldier's Medal.
